Tammy Murphy Receives Endorsement from International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District 21

RED BANK, NJ – Today, the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21 (IUPAT 21) endorsed Tammy Murphy for U.S. Senate. The IUPAT 21 represents over 6,000 painters, drywall finishers, wall coverers, glaziers, and glass workers in New Jersey, Central and Northeast Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and Delaware.

“Tammy Murphy has been a passionate supporter of New Jersey’s strong unions and shares the values of our dedicated women, men, and families,” said Fran McLaughlin, Business Manager of IUPAT District 21. “Long before running for U.S. Senate, Tammy made it a priority to partner with our union and include the painters and allied tradesmen of the IUPAT in large scale projects across the state. Tammy understands the value and importance of bringing good-paying, family-sustaining union jobs to the state and has done so through her work to build New Jersey’s burgeoning clean energy and film industries. The IUPAT 21 is proud to endorse Tammy Murphy for U.S. Senate and we are confident that she will be a steadfast partner in the fight for safe working conditions and fair wages.”

“I am extremely grateful to Fran McLaughlin, Tim Crowther, Mike Laughlin and the entire IUPAT District 21 for their endorsement of my candidacy for U.S. Senate,” said Tammy Murphy. “The women and men of IUPAT District 21 have been incredible partners and I have enjoyed working with them on critical projects. Our country’s unions and the women and men of labor are the heart of a strong middle class and robust economy. I promise to be a tenacious fighter for our union partners and am committed to expanding opportunities for apprenticeships and training, while advocating for higher wages and better work environments.”

Murphy has received endorsements from several unions including the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers, the State Troopers Fraternal Association, the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers Local 194, the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association, and the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters. Murphy has also received support from over sixty faith and community leaders, six Congressional members, and over one hundred elected officials.
